Christian was born on the island of Ponza, Italy, to a Catholic family. He felt his vocation for the first time at the age of six, and at the age of 13 he received the stigmata for the first time while praying on the hills near his house, that same year he moved to the mainland to begin his seminary studies to become a priest. His spiritual director was Father Amorth, a notorious Italian exorcist, who took him under his protection and helped him grow.
