“Italy, March 9th 2020. The President of the Council of Ministers, Giuseppe Conte, decrees the lockdown status for the whole national territory. In addition to the closure of commercial and production activities not considered essential for subsistence, it requires people to stay at home, to avoid gatherings and infections, moving is allowed only for health or food needs. Millions of Italians are catapulted into a confinement situation. The project aims to visually tell stories of suspended existences, suspended in time and space, still images of a crepuscular Italy, destabilized as never before.ì People ready to go out who suddenly find their way barred by a window’s glass that symbolically reflects the outside world, made inhospitable by an invisible enemy. As in an aquarium, they are alone, frozen in an apparent stillness, far from a daily life, perhaps hated, which today comes as reassuring. Their time is full of doubts and uncertainties, fears and hopes. Affective simulacra in which everyone can recognize themselves, their own marginalization and their own battle. Far from the outside world, which is right there, beyond the glass where everything awaits.
